Steven Hutchinson, 29, of Bridgeport, pleaded guilty in Hartford federal court to one count of possession with intent to distribute heroin.
Hutchinson was sentenced in federal court to 60 months in prison for distributing heroin, followed by five years of supervised release on Nov. 20, 2014. He was released on May 22 last year.
Shortly after being released from prison, U.S. Attorney John Durham said the Stamford Police Department received information that Hutchinson was again selling drugs in Fairfield County.
On June 21 last year, weeks after his release, an undercover Stamford police officer arranged to purchase 300 bags of Heroin from Hutchinson for $1,800. Instead, Hutchinson was arrested after he arrived at a parking lot in Stamford to complete the transaction and exited his car in possession of the drugs.
A laboratory analysis of the seized drugs determined that the bags had a mixture of heroin and fentanyl inside.
Hutchinson is scheduled to be sentenced in Hartford on Tuesday, Nov. 19, when he will face up to 20 years in prison. He also faces additional penalties for violating the terms of his supervised release.
